Notön

Eventually, we see Grimmansmålasjön again and soon come out on Notön, which belongs to the Sjömålen croft. The name makes us realize how important lake fishing was right up to modern times. In the early 1800s, the inn in Emmabo paid its own fisherman. Of all the methods, fixed fishing was the most rational. The dams at mills and other industries were supplemented with eel chests, which still yielded good catches in the 1960s.

On a floating bridge we cross the small watercourse that connects Grimmansmålasjön with Stenkaret, a bulge of Lyckebyån, and soon reach our starting point.
