Beskrivelse
In Långrälla-Borg, a large contiguous area of hazel-dominated forest is protected - the hazel. Hazel is a very rare habitat type in Sweden. Many of the fungi, plants and animals associated with this habitat type are threatened.
Old pastures
Grazing animals have been grazing on the reserve's land for a long time. The grazing has created a mosaic of sun-warmed glades, flower-rich glades and shady grove environments. In recent years, grazing has declined, leading to overgrowth and the loss of many of the reserve's rare species. To help these species, the southern part of the reserve has been restored and is now grazed annually.
Many exciting plants
In spring, the nettles are in bloom. Blue, yellow and white anemone, together with cornflower, toothwort and cowslip, help to color the land. Orchids such as St. John's wort, helleborine and woodruff also grow in the grasslands. In the wet meadows along Borgmossen, orchids, such as wildflowers and meadow keys, also grow together with the endangered mayflower.
Unusual fungi
In the fall, rare and remarkable mushrooms appear in the reserve. The reserve's rarities include the frost spider and Hungarian deer truffle. Other exciting mushrooms in the area are the stinkler mushroom, olive tongue, spotted saffron mushroom and light meadow finger mushroom. What many of these fungi have in common is that they are lime- and heat-favored. Glades and heaths preserved by grazing animals are therefore particularly valuable. There are also fungi that depend on hazel or oak, with which they have an intimate relationship underground called mycorrhiza.

On the road between Färjestaden and Norra Möckleby, turn north towards Grå borg. Parking is available at the Vitterhetsakademiens parking lot at Gråborg, from where you can get to the reserve with the help of trails and signs.
Forskrifter
In the nature reserve you are not allowed:
- Drive a motorized vehicle.
- Park a motor vehicle, caravan or trailer.
- Camp for more than 24 hours in the same place.
- Climb trees with nests.
- Being close to a bird of prey nest, lair or burrow.
- Deliberately disturbing wildlife.
- Bringing a dog, or other animal, that is not on a leash.
- Make a fire anywhere other than in designated areas, in a barbecue you have brought or in an open-air kitchen.
- Picking or damaging mosses, lichens or wood fungi.
- Digging or pulling up vascular plants.
- Damage or remove trees, stumps, bark, branches, shrubs or brush that are growing or dead.
If you have obtained a permit from the County Administrative Board, you may:
- Set traps to collect insects that are then killed.
Full regulations
C. Regulations for the public according to Chapter 7, Section 30 of the Environmental Code on the right to travel and stay in the reserve and on order in general within the reserve.
It is forbidden to enter the reserve:
- drive motor vehicles.
- Set up a motor vehicle, caravan or trailer.
- camping for more than one day in the same place
- climbing trees, staying close to a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot, or otherwise deliberately damaging or disturbing wildlife
- bring an unleashed dog or other loose pet
- light a fire other than in a barbecue or outdoor kitchen
- Pick or damage wood fungi, mosses or lichens.
- Digging or pulling up vascular plants.
- Damage or remove growing or dead trees, stumps, bark, branches, bushes or brush.
It is forbidden to do so without the permission of the County Administrative Board:
- collect insects with traps that kill.
The regulations under C do not apply to owners or holders of special rights to property or holders of other rights.
