Färgsjön

Färgsjön is a good example of how a small forest lake can become an Eldorado for sport fishing. In the case of Färgsjön, it is SFK Kroken's stocking of carp since 1994 that has driven development. These fish have grown very well and the lake record is just over 17 kg. There will probably be carp weighing up to 20 kg within a few years. Färgsjön can be found if you leave Hultsfred and head towards Stora Hammarsjön's bathing area from road 34. Before you reach Stora Hammarsjön, Färgsjön is on the right.

There are lots of fishing days behind each catch and it is not easy fishing, but despite that, the lake attracts anglers from all over the country because of the size of the fish. Färgsjön is a small forest lake with dark water. On the north side of the lake, where the entrance is located, it is hilly with rocks and steep edges. To the south it is flatter with moss fields. Around the lake grow pine, water hemlock, bilberry, birch, pine and spruce. The aquatic vegetation is sparse except for the large shallow areas in the eastern and southern parts of the lake. The vegetation consists of sedges, pike perch, water lilies and reeds. You can park at the entrance and there is an information board.
