Vidösterns fvof

Lake Vidöstern is one of Småland's larger lakes with a length of 22 km, it stretches from Värnamo in the north to Dörarp/Vittaryd in the south and is part of the Laganån water system. The fishing area is covered by lake Vidöstern , Färsjön , Prostsjön and Laganån downstream of Karlfors dam to Vidöstern , from Vidöstern to the power plant dam in Hallsjö , Toftaån up to Flåren . The area outside the Far East community is not included. (See detailed map) .

The lake is classified as of national interest for active outdoor life and is one of southern Sweden's most popular zander fishing lakes with catches of over 10 kilos! Vidöstern is a large lake with good fishing for pike, zander and perch suitable for spin fishing and trolling. It is also a nice water for anglers with bream, roach, lake, whitefish, whitefish, tench and eel.

The lake has varying depth conditions with well-marked foundations for safer boating. There are well developed ramp systems at both ends of the lake and also in the middle of the lake. Most of the lake has a sandy bottom, which is why there are many nice bathing and resting places along the lake's edge and out on the islands. Färjansö and Långö are nature reserves and there special consideration must be given to nature and wildlife, e.g. is there a disembarkation ban on Långö during the birds' nesting season. You must obtain more information on the spot if a complaint becomes relevant.
