Beskrivelse
In Reftele you will find Ölmestad School and Mill Museum. It is housed in Ölmestad's old school, which was built in 1926 and used as a primary and secondary school until 1966 when the new Ölmestad School was opened.
The collections include items from disused schools in the old Reftele municipality. There is a schoolroom furnished with old school desks that you are welcome to try out. If you lift the bench lid you will find old school books. The museum has more than 800 school posters, a textile exhibition and a large collection of everyday objects.
The main hall upstairs has everything from buttons to bicycles and chainsaws. The textile exhibition shows, among other things, linen and wool preparation, ribbon weaving, sewing and equipment for the care of textiles.
Genealogy
Are you interested in genealogy? The museum offers opportunities for this. These activities take place in collaboration with associations and study organizations, mainly in the evenings and at weekends.
