Artist Carl Richard Söderström has said that he is fascinated by how quickly nature reclaims places that humans have created but no longer use, as he witnessed when, among other places, travelling to Indonesia. Biological forms as well as buildings and weathered sculptures covered in vegetation are clear inspirations for his art.

“The roundabout sculpture represents a powerful energy that is slightly untamed. It is on the move and opens up to change and new possibilities,” says Carl Richard. ‘Corpus’ was made possible thanks to a generous bequest from Siri Bergkvist, who worked for many years at Värnamo Gummifabrik. The money was to go towards an artistic creation, which resulted in the bronze roundabout sculpture ‘Corpus’.
