Komstad kvarn

The country store still has its interior and some goods from the time before it closed in 1975. The frame saw from 1871 is driven by water wheels as in the past. The village environment includes, for example, a mill, circular saw and millstone foundry.

In older times, Komstad was an important place in Västra härad. The county courthouse was located here, with the county seat, which is still preserved today, as well as a courthouse that now serves as a privately owned holiday home. The courthouse and inn existed here between 1734 and 1908.

Komstad is classified as a national interest for cultural heritage protection. Komstad Kvarn offers guided tours and accepts group trips on request.
