Ekbergsparkens naturreservat

Ekbergsparken is a deciduous forest area in Tranås town. The area is completely surrounded by buildings except in the far south, where the Svartån river forms the border. The forest consists mainly of oak, birch and hazel, and the hollows and nooks and crannies of the oaks are good habitats for several species of birds and mammals. The terrain is mountainous and hilly, and small roads and paths run through the park. In the northern part of the park is Holavedens hembygdsgård and Tranås hostel. The homestead includes a large number of buildings moved here from the area around Tranås and Sommen. In the middle of the complex is the vicarage from Norra Vi, a hall building from the 18th century. In addition, there is, among other things, Ljungstugan (a smaller back ridge cottage, probably from the early 18th century), Hagströmska farm (a castle farm from the old Lövstad) and Soldattorpet Blankhemmet
