Reservatet ligger 1,5 mil nordost om Föllinge. Ta väg 344 från Hammerdal till byn Ottsjön. En skogsbilväg i byns västra utkant leder upp till Siksjön. Gå längs sjöns östra sida för att ta dig till reservatet.

Welcome to Väster-Ottsjön. Keep in mind that within the reserve it is not allowed to:

• make fires, except in specially designated places
• capture, disturb or harm mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and spawning grounds or collect eggs
• climbing nest trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, roost or burrow
• disturbing the ground, boulders or vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
• picking and collecting natural products (e.g. wood fungi, lichens and mosses) with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms
• collecting invertebrates, such as beetles and land molluscs
• driving motorized vehicles off-road throughout the area
• construct snowmobile trails

Paragraph 2 does not prevent the practice of hunting. Point 7 does not prevent the off-road transportation of felled moose. This presupposes that vehicles with low ground pressure are used and that the shortest and most suitable route for transport is chosen.
