Guests come to us from all directions. The classic hiking routes, the Jämtland Triangle and the Sylarna Loop, both pass through Blåhammaren. You can start your hike from Storulvån, Storerikvollen, Rundhögen, or Storlien.
Blåhammaren offers a self-catering kitchen, sauna, shower, shop, and drying room. The 100-year-old main building has plenty of social spaces. Here, you can enjoy your meal, recover after the day's hike, play games, and socialize. The self-catering kitchen is equipped with a stove, refrigerator, running water, spices, and seasonings.
The sauna at Blåhammaren is famous for its magnificent view of the Norwegian mountains. After a long day in the mountains, you can enjoy a shower and a sauna session. The sauna is mixed, please bring your own towel and something to wear inside.
The shop offers a wide selection of dry goods, canned food, snacks, sweets, and drinks. The selection corresponds to the "Large" assortment available in mountain huts.
STF Blåhammaren is cashless. You can prepay for your stay, but on-site, you can only pay by card.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
To STF Storulvån, you can travel conveniently and sustainably with SJ trains to Duved or Enafors, and then take a connecting transfer with Wänseth Buss/Topptaxi all the way. For timetables, see https://www.wansethbuss.se/tidtabell (opens in new tab). The transfer runs on a fixed schedule, connecting with certain train arrivals and departures, but you can also book a private transfer at other times if desired.
Snälltåget operates direct trains from southern Sweden to Enafors twice a week from week 9 until Easter, as well as during July–September, with connecting transfer to and from Storulvån included in the ticket price. You can purchase the entire trip including transfer to and from Storulvån.
Travel time by train to Duved: from Östersund 2 hours, from Stockholm 8 hours, from Gothenburg 13 hours, and from Malmö 14 hours.
At STF Storulvån, you can stock up on supplies, repack, store luggage, and enjoy a good breakfast or lunch before starting your trek towards Blåhammaren. Maps are available in Storulvån’s shop.
BY CAR
Storulvån is 17 km from the E14 highway: 2 hours’ drive from Östersund, 1 hour from Åre, and 1.5 hours from Trondheim. From the E14 in Enafors, follow the signs to Storulvån. The final 8 km run along the edge of the mountain plateau on an asphalt road, offering magnificent views over the Jämtland mountains.
At Storulvån, you can park for the duration of your mountain tour. Payment can be made via Swish or card, and parking is free when staying at Storulvån. EV charging is available.
Note: Between 1 February and 15 April, the road between Handöl and Storulvån is closed at night from 22:00 to 08:00. The road may also be closed during the day in poor weather conditions.

Fly to Östersund. At the airport, you can rent a car – driving time to Storulvån is about 2 hours.
