Reservatet ligger åtta mil norr om Strömsund. Från väg 342 mot Gäddedepasserar man Lidsjöberg och tar därefter höger mot Risede. En dryg mil efter Risede går det en skogsbilväg in till höger, härifrån leder en stig på tre kilometer till reservatet.

Welcome to Stensjön. Please note that within the reserve it is not allowed to:

• make fires, except in specially designated places
• capture, disturb or harm mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and spawning grounds or collect eggs
• climbing nest trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, roost or burrow
• damaging the ground, rocks or vegetation
• felling live or standing dead trees and processing dead wood
• picking and collecting natural products (e.g. wood fungi, lichens and mosses) except berries and edible mushrooms
• collecting invertebrates, such as beetles and land molluscs
• driving motorized vehicles off-road throughout the area
• marking trails, organizing orienteering checks or holding competitions
• constructing snowmobile trails.
