Beskrivelse
In Slåttsved Nature Reserve you can experience an old deciduous coniferous forest with high natural values. The forest in the reserve, with the exception of a small stand in the west, has been untouched for a long time. There are plenty of rare lichens on the trunks, and the ground is lush and rich in species, thanks to the limestone-rich soil. On maps from the 1800s, the area is called "Slått Sved". This suggests that less than 200 years ago, the land was burnt down and used for haymaking. It's an intriguing thought that scythes were once used here!

Veibeskrivelse
The reserve is located five kilometers northeast of Mattmar. From the E14 road, turn north 300 meters west of Mattmar church. After half a kilometer, where the woodland takes over, you turn left and then just right. The road passes the railway and after another couple of kilometers the reserve is on the right side of the road.
Forskrifter
Welcome to Slåttsved. Please note that within the reserve it is not allowed to:
- capture, disturb or harm mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and spawning grounds or collect eggs
- picking and collecting any species except berries and edible mushrooms
- climbing nest trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, lair or burrow
- damaging the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
- driving a motorized vehicle off-road.
Other rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the relevant reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
