Beskrivelse
In addition to an old spruce forest, you can meet a range of exciting plants that thrive on soil containing lime. Among others, you can see the grass forest cane, the perennial herb wreath, the orchids knotweed, two-leaf and guckusko, and the fern lime fern. But especially the orchid norna is widespread in the large nature reserve, which is unusual and represents a high natural value. Almost half of the nature reserve consists of moist and sometimes nutrient-rich old forest, known as swamp forest. It is unusual for such old swamp forests to be left standing.

Veibeskrivelse
The route description starts from Strömsund. Follow road 342 north for 54 kilometers. Then turn right and follow the new road for about 9 kilometers. Then turn right onto a forest road. Follow the forest road for 1.4 kilometers until you reach a junction, you are then at the entrance to the nature reserve.
Forskrifter
Welcome to Siljeåsen. Keep in mind that in the reserve it is not allowed to:
- pick and collect species of various kinds, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms,
- climbing trees, staying near a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot, collecting animals or otherwise deliberately damaging or disturbing wildlife,
- damaging the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
- drive a motorized vehicle off-road.
Other rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the relevant reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
