Beskrivelse
In this forest, time has stood still. Only a few old stumps show that people have ever been here. The pine trees that took root over 300 years ago are still here today, and the forest is unusually rich in dry trees, making it attractive to both plant and animal species.

Veibeskrivelse
From road 84 just west of Älvros there are road signs. It is just under three miles of gravel road from Älvros to the reserve, the road runs along the Norrälven.
Forskrifter
Welcome to Högåsen. Keep in mind that it is not allowed within the reserve:
- camp
- make fires
- drive a motorized vehicle in the terrain
- climbing trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot
- damaging the ground or vegetation, including dry trees and windfalls.
Other rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the relevant reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
