Beskrivelse
A trip into the nature reserve brings contact with old spruce forest. The top of Hammarberget lies at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. The further down the north-eastern slope you go, the denser and more mature the spruce forest becomes. It is there, in the lower parts of the area, that you can meet calcareous vegetation such as soapwort, wreathwort and bracken. Trees with a diameter of 60 centimeters at breast height are often seen. After extensive felling in the mid-20th century, there is not much dead wood in the area, but through free development, dead wood will increase. In the eastern part of the reserve runs Fjällmanbäcken, which is an inventoried watercourse with high natural values. Historical maps from 1888 show that the slopes of Hammarberget were used for grazing and moorland.

After Duved, turn off the E14 onto road 322. After about 7.5 km turn left onto a small forest road. Keep right at the fork in the road and drive to the turnaround and you will arrive at the reserve's border.
Forskrifter
Welcome to Hammarberget. Keep in mind that it is not allowed within the reserve:
- pick and collect species of various kinds, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms,
- climbing trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot,
- damaging the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
- drive a motorized vehicle off-road, and
- make fires, other than with firewood
Without the permission of the County Administrative Board, it is forbidden to:
- mark out tracks, organize orienteering checks or organize competitions
Other rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the relevant reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
