Beskrivelse

Grofjällsrundan in Edsåsdalen invites you to a pulse-raising ski tour with wonderful views. A trip that can easily be made into a full day trip if you stop for coffee and rest in all the shelters and rest cabins that you pass.

A winter trail for those who have skied a bit before, are well trained and have good grip on the skis.

Tip!

If you feel fit in your legs and the weather permits, the summit hike from Grofjällsstugan and up to the top of Grofjället is something you should not miss.

Start the trail at "Köja" and make your way down the ski slope to the trailhead. From here, follow the signs with number 120 and start with a slight climb in the cross-country trail before shortly turning left, crossing the bridge and continuing up through the forest.

Now wait for about 3km easy uphill until you reach the fäbodvallen, Sönnerstvallen and can take your first break if desired. If you have firewood, you can also light a warming fire in the stove.

With freshly rested, 1.5km of climbing up the mountainside awaits through protective coniferous forest that soon turns into sparser birch forest. Just before the bald mountain takes over, you will find Grofjällsstugan and if your legs feel good, you can now choose to continue up to the top of Grofjället before turning down and enjoying fine skiing on the mountain slope and reconnecting to the trail to continue towards Vackermon.

After passing Vackermon's wind shelter, you set your sights on Dalen. On the way down you will pass both rest benches and Sönkmyrbäckens wind shelter if you feel like stopping for more coffee.

Once down at the Dalen track center, choose the left side and follow the groomed track back down to the starting point Köja.
