Varbergs Fästning

The rock on which Varberg Fortress stands has been called Wardberg since long before the fortress and the town of Varberg existed. Fires were lit here to warn if the enemy approached from the sea. At the end of the 13th century, a castle was built on the rock, which has since been extended and fortified. Today you can visit Halland's cultural history museum at the fortress and take part in an exciting story.
