Beskrivelse
Gamla Köpstad Norra consists of the islands Rödskär and Svartskär. At low tide, it is possible to get to Rödskär via a rocky shore, which has made the island a popular destination for excursions. The islands are also popular with birds and access to Svartskär is therefore prohibited from April 1 to July 15.
On Rödskär, which is the larger of the two islands, there are small, species-rich dry meadows interspersed with boulder and juniper fields. The salty meadows are home to saltwort, trift and goosegrass. At low tide, the island can be reached from the mainland without a boat, making it a popular destination for excursions.
Rocks and sand on Svartskär
Svartskär, which is dominated by rocks and sand, is an important nesting site for sandpipers, little auks, eiders and grebes. A boat is required to get to Svartskär. Remember that there is a ban on access during the nesting season.

Veibeskrivelse
Gamla Köpstad Norra is located in Varberg municipality. Directions: From the Falkenberg-Varberg coastal road, choose "S Näs" to reach the beach meadows inside the islands. A municipal parking lot is located at Sylaviksvägen about 500 meters east of the reserve. At low tide it is possible to get to Rödskär from the mainland via a stone path. A boat is required to get to Svartskär.
Forskrifter
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- deliberately disturbing wildlife, for example by taking close-up photographs of nesting sites
- digging up plants
- camping or setting up a caravan
- starting a fire
- driving a motorized vehicle other than on designated roads and parking areas,
- ride horses other than on roads designated by the manager
- park other than in a designated place,
- use radios, tape recorders and the like in a disruptive manner,
- enter Svartskär during the period 1/4 - 15/7.
- have a dog unleashed.
