Restaurangen på Stora Karlsö

We offer seasonal local produce, lots of veg, fish from sustainable coastal fisheries, primarily meat from farms on the island, well-prepared home cooking, our version of Mediterranean classics and bistro food.

The menu is not set in stone - if we get hold of some fun fish, extra fine wax beans or so, it ends up on the plate! Gluten- & lactose-free we solve without problems, we ask you with allergies to contact us.

The restaurant will be an inviting meeting place for nature lovers of all ages. Through conscious choices, good food and good in the glasses, we want to be a place for recovery, meetings, new acquaintances and inspiration.

Between breakfast, lunch & dinner we offer coffee, snacks and goodies with full rights. We also sell nice karlsö souvenirs, books, ice cream and other supplies you may need on a small island in the Baltic Sea.

Sweeping changes are needed for people and the environment, for a future worth believing in. We are proud to be part of Sustainable Speis, an initiative that aims to make the island the country's most sustainable dining destination. Do you want to book?

You do not need to book lunch before your arrival on the island. After the watchman's speech held at the flagpole after the boat's arrival, you come in to us in the restaurant and order and pay for your lunch. At the port office in Klintehamn and on the boat, the day's menu is posted, so you can decide what you want to eat on the way out. This makes it easier once you are there. It is not possible to book a table for lunch.

Are you staying on the island, and have booked dinner? Come in to us after the watchman's speech, so you can choose what to eat and get a time for when to eat. If you come with your own boat, don't forget to contact our supervisor in advance on tel 070- 323 72 40.
