Outside the hospital, two bird-like figures sit facing each other. Their bodies are close together and their beaks are close to meeting. This gives a sense of presence and tenderness to the otherwise rather stylized sculpture.

The sculpture is visible both to passers-by from the road and from the windows of the nearby ward. Perhaps the pair of birds can act as a springboard and raise questions and reflections about the viewer's own relationships?

The work is by the artist Katarina Jönsson Norling, who is responsible for a number of public works of art in Gävleborg. The sculpture in question can be emphasized as characteristic of Norling as the work depicts an intimate, close encounter, while universal / existential issues are discussed.
