I spåren av stormen – heldagstur på Gästriketriangeln

A full-day hike for those who want to get really close to one of Sweden's most dramatically changed forest landscapes.

Discover the Gästriketriangle together with a local knowledgeable nature guide, also a local forest owner, and experience the tracks of the storm, deep forests and open views.

Morning and afternoon coffee and a wilderness lunch are included, as well as transportation from Ockelbo station and back. During the tour, the guide informs and inspires participants about the founding of the Gästriketriangle and the impact of the storm on the landscape, people and society.

Storm Johannes changed large parts of the forests around Ockelbo during the winter 25/26. Where paths previously meandered through dense forest, you now encounter a more open and dramatic landscape.

This full-day tour gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the nature and history of the Gästriketriangle. We hike for a whole day through the parts of the trail that are passable, but there may also be some detours in areas a bit from the trail. During the day there will be time for breaks, stories and reflection. The length of the walk may vary based on prevailing conditions, but is estimated to be between 6-10 km.

The tour is suitable for people who are used to walking in forest terrain and who want to experience a landscape where the power of nature is still clearly present.
