Bondarvsvallsberget, Naturreservat

In Bondarvsvallberget nature reserve, the spruce forest has been unaffected by forestry for over 100 years. Here you can experience a primeval forest-like nature. The forest and water offer great nature experiences. The area is located 12 kilometers southwest of Järvsö and covers 17 hectares. Here you will find many different vascular plants, such as woodruff. It is an orchid that lacks chlorophyll. It also grows forest bramble and sedge, as well as mosses and fungi.

Valuable for many

In parts of the reserve there are spring streams and water from a bog. And in these damp areas you can find the scented tick, woolly tick and club moss. Lichen hangs on the old spruces. There are also birch, aspen and willow trees interspersed between the conifers.

Here and there are a few coarse moss-covered pine stumps that indicate that there has been logging in the area. Probably in the late 1800s. Traces of fire are visible on some pine stumps.
