Väsman vinterarena

Väsman is a large lake with varying nature. Closest to the starting point from Ludvika's marina you reach Bärholmarna, here a smaller circular track of about 1 km is usually ploughed. The courses are ploughed at a reasonable distance to the beach and offer nice views of permanent buildings, holiday homes and village environments. The association Väsman VinterArena takes care of the ploughing of the tracks, which are easily accessible as there are many starting places with good parking facilities. In addition to skating, Väsman's rinks are also suitable for a walk or kick sledding. When there is plenty of snow, ski tracks are also built next to the ice rinks, which provides an excellent training arena for double poling for e.g. Vasaloppet.Starting places: Ludvika marina/Skuthamn, Sörvik, Brunnsvik, Norrvik and Dröverka.The primary course runs between Ludvika marina and Dröverka. The round trip distance is about 20 km long one way. At all starting points there are information signs and course descriptions. The association places bench sets after the course so you can sit down and rest/have coffee.
