Siljansleden, Norra Garberg till Björka

NOTE: Siljan trail over Spjutmo closed.

Fortum is carrying out work at Spjutmo power plant and because of this it is not possible to get across the Österdal River.

No date is set for when the work is completed but it will last at the shortest until December 31, 2021.

If you plan to hike this stretch, you must therefore be aware that you will not be able to continue on the Siljan Trail when you reach Spjutmo power plant.

The stretch from Norra Garbergs to Björka passes Risåsen where it is possible to take a detour up to the viewpoint. The trail then passes Myckelbergs fäbodar and then on towards Hökberg.

At Norra Garbergs fäbodar, the fäbod operation ceased in 1966. From Garbergsklacken, 1 km from the pastures, there is a beautiful view of Siljansbygden. There is a fire tower on the mountain.

At Hökberg there is a beautiful view over the Österdalälven valley towards the river valley mountains.
