Beskrivelse
In terms of cultivated land, Mosselbodarna is the largest farmstead in Floda parish. In the 1806-1812 land consolidation, the cultivated area amounted to 422 acres and one cape. The number of co-owners then amounted to 59.
But it is also one of the parish's oldest shepherd's huts. It is mentioned as early as 1548 and in 1557 the number of summer grazing cows amounted to 45. In 1664 "Fagerbärget" had eight co-owners.
The moss sheds are located on a southern slope and over 60 meters separate the lowest parts from the highest. Fäbodstället is divided into several groups of houses that are now separated by forest.
At "Stafbergs stannsta", one of many places where the herdboys and herdgirls rested when herding the animals, lightning is said to have killed a group of cows.
As late as the summer of 1957, 45 cows were grazing at the pastures.
Livestock farming ceased in the early 1980s and Jönses Britta Olsson-Eriksson, born in 1911, known colloquially as Västgöt-Britta, was the last herdsman. When she moved home in the fall of 1982 with her four cows, some young cattle and a pig, she ended a centuries-old era.
In a cultural-historical environmental analysis, Mosselbodarna is classified as an area of great cultural-historical and environmental value. The inventory of Dalarna's meadows and pastures in 1988-1990 found that the remnants of the haymaking vegetation have a very long continuity and are of high value.
