Beskrivelse
Lortån is one of Gagnef municipality's local nature reserves. The river is home to the rare river pearl mussel and brook trout.
The three-toed woodpecker also lives in the untouched forest. A nicely marked and cleared path leads you through the reserve, where you can also get information about nature, culture and nature issues.
The reserve has an area of about 50 ha. The forest area south of the river has an unusually large contiguous area of dense spruce forest. Rare wood fungi and lichens are found here.
The hiking trail in and around the reserve is about 2.7 km long and leads you on a hike with a lot of water, history, nature and culture. There are traces of human activity since the 17th century in the reserve.
You can read about this and much more on the information boards along the trail, which tell you about coal mining, mills, environmental goals, nature and more. The trail leads you on towards the Gästgivarbodarna stables, and then ends at the starting point.

- Leave Djurås at the E16/RV 70 roundabout
- Drive towards Oslo about 1 km
- Turn left at the roundabout at Dalviks kvarn towards Bäsna/Arvslindan.
- Drive about 3 km until you come to a four-way intersection. Go straight ahead, over the railroad and keep right.
- drive about 8.5 km
- the parking lot is on the right side of the road where the I-board is.

Fin naturskog att vandra i, dock var det möngder av vindfällen som ligger över stigarna när vi var där, men går att ta sig runt eller över med lite ansträngning
Stigarna i Lortån blev rensade från vindfällen 2026-04-28 så nu är det framkomligt igen.
