Gråhålsgrottan

This is something for the speleologist to bite into!

This fractured cave, formed by the pressure of land ice, is an exciting challenge. There's a lot to explore. But it's not for those who have started growing in the direction of travel. Here you have to be quite narrow to be able to take part in all the secrets of the cave. Karl-Erik Forslund wrote this about Gråhålsgrottan: "A narrow crack opens in a rock wall, like a narrow gate, its floor slopes inwards, next to it is a black hole so small that only a poor man can crawl in - but inside he can get up again, there is an arched hall so large that ten people can fit in there, and of them four or five can stand up straight. From two sides pass into this first chamber, leading to a small second and a third larger chamber, into which it is said a bold old man crept, though it was so narrow that he had to take off his leather trousers to get through!"

The cave is located in a steep part of the mountain with lots of boulders all the way down to the lake shore. This means you have to do a bit of searching to find it, but that task alone is exciting enough. Then, of course, there is a beautiful view of Rällsjön, between the trees.
