Gästgivarbodarna

In the 1663 list of mountain farms, "Tunekarlebodarna" is mentioned, which is probably the current Gästgivarbodarna. The sheds were used by Jöns Halvarsson and Hans Johansson from Mjälgen, Johan Halvardsson from Ytterbacka and Per Jacobsson from Nysäl.

At the time of the land transfer, there were 23 co-owners. 15 of these came from Ytterbacka, three from Utby, two from Djurås and one each from Djurmo and Mjälgen.

The farmstead is located on a slope and Tuna rå actually runs across one of the farm levels. This meant that the farm's owners used to milk in Gagnef and then strain the milk in Tuna.

Even in the summer of 1933, eight farmers had their animals in the Gästgivar stalls. Gästgivarbodarna was a living pasture until 1947 when the last litter Märta Wikgård "buffered" home with five or six cows and some young animals.
