Byarundan Siljansnäs

Byrviken and Alviken around with a trip up to Hjulbäck and travel along Siljan. Nice round through villages and forests, over fields and along water. The village round offers great variety and nice views out over the water. Mainly you cycle on smaller asphalt roads but elements of gravel road also occur.

The climb is moderate but up on Björkberget or up to Grytnäs the pulse increases significantly regardless of clockwise or counterclockwise round. If it is summer and warm, there are several opportunities to get to the water for a dip.

In Alvik, you can take a detour to Storön and experience a living cultural landscape with open fields and pastures. Parts of the peninsula are a nature reserve and in summer cattle graze in the far north.

In Siljansnäs you can buy provisions at Tempo opposite the church. At certain times there are also several coffee shops to visit, such as Siljansnäs carpentry café or if you want to take the extra hill up to Buffils Anna's coffee shop.

At the top of Björkberget is Naturum and Siljansnäs nature reserve. A very worthwhile place to visit with the viewing tower that provides views of the entire Siljan region.
