Bastberg

It is mainly coniferous forest on rocky ground. Many of the pines are around 200 years old, and the spruces on the rocky ground are also old and full of hanging lichens. The southwest-facing slope in the reserve was previously a field but was planted with spruce more than 60 years ago. The experience today is that you walk in the forest but look for cairns and cairns. You can see the beautiful view from Bastberg's shelters between the tree trunks in the reserve. As the Siljan Trail runs through the area, it is easy to get up into the reserve.

Leksand's nature conservation fund has contributed to the creation of the reserve.
