Backbodarna

The huts may have been built as early as the end of the 16th century.

At the time of the 1811-1817 census, the farmstead had 66 co-owners from the villages of Rista, Lindan, Överbacka, Gröntuv, Djurås, Skogen, By, Djur and Bomsarvet.

The farmsteads were divided into the farm clusters Risthuset, Back-husen, Lindhusen and Skogshusen, of which Lindhusen was the largest. There are now no houses left in Skogsbacken.

In 1933, Backbodarna had 21 co-owners (17 houses), who together had 61 cows and eleven heifers. At most, 90-100 cows are said to have been on summer grazing at the pastures.

In the mid-1940s, Backbodarna ceased to be a living pasture. At that time there were ten households and between 10 and 15 cows. The last herdsman was Kerstin Finn.
