Simple bench placed next to the mythical Ladfogdegylet. The atmosphere here is almost magical with a very wilderness feel. Take the opportunity to sit down for a while and breathe in the peace and atmosphere. Around Ladfogdegylet, there is a good chance of seeing the bittern and crane that nest here. Water lilies and the small plant notblomster are also common.

Ladfogdegylet is now a bay of Halen. It used to be its own small lake - Hallagölen, with dry land between it and Halen. In 1901-31, however, the water level in Halen was raised by about 1 meter. This was in contrast to many other lakes that were drained to provide more arable land at that time. However, the newly built mill in Olofström needed hydropower and therefore the water level was raised. The land between Hallagölen and Halen was now under water and the new bay was named Ladfogdegylet. A stone wall is hidden under the inlet to the bay and the marshland around the old lake was also submerged. As a result, when the water temperature rises in summer, gases are formed under the old bog and this lifts large pools of bog peat, stumps and branches to the surface. These have been named 'gas islands'. When the temperature drops in the fall, these islands also sink to the bottom.
