Norra och Södra Hammaren

Norra and Södra Hammaren are home to a lush deciduous forest where some of the trees are over 200 years old. It is at its most beautiful in spring when the air is filled with the scent of flowers and the ground glows with wood anemones, bluebells and lily of the valley. You can also hear the hooting of the bittern and the drumming of the woodpecker. Södra Hammaren is also Arbogas oldest nature reserve!

If you are looking for peace and quiet and beautiful nature, Norra and Södra Hammaren are great places to visit as the areas are a few kilometers from the public road and can only be reached by bike or on foot. There are no landscaped paths to follow, but feel free to wander around and discover the area on your own.
