One of Värmlands 3 medieval castle. Only the ruins are left but the history remains. Come and see a part of the local history.

Edsholms castle is a medieval castle located at Slottsbrosundet in Grums. The castle was likely to have been built during the 1370's by the marshal of Värmland, Erik Kettilsson Puke. The location was a strategically important spot because of its ability to control both water and land. This as it is placed right by the waterway up to lake Värmeln but was also along the main transport roads from Swedens west coast and onwards towards Stockholm.

Edsholm is one of Värmlands three medieval castles. The othe two are Saxholmens castle and Amneholm near Gullspång. The castle was home to the kings bailiff in Värmland. The last captain last resided in the castle was Herman Gisler. During Hermans time at the castle it was attacked and destroyed in 1434 by the farmers in Värmland during the Engelbrekts riot. The castle was never rebuilt.

In 1991- 92 archaeological searches were made in that area and resulted in many finds.
