Båtbuss 96 - Alvön/Långön

Boat 96 (Båtbuss 96) takes you to the islands of Alvön and Långön in Kristinehamn's beautiful archipelago.

In the summer of 2025, you can take Boat 96 (Båtbuss 96) from Vålösundsbryggan to the islands of Alvön and Långön. The boat departs four times a day, three days a week (Friday-Sunday), from July 25th to August 17th.

On the sun-soaked islands of Långön and Alvön, you can easily find your own spot on the rocks. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy the stunning views of Lake Vänern, the gentle waves, and the sun-warmed cliffs. Learn more about the islands here.

Tickets

You can purchase tickets in several ways:

• Pre-book your ticket at Kristinehamn Tourist Centre
• Pre-book your ticket online via Varmlandstrafik.se
• Purchase your ticket when boarding, using a credit card or travel funds
• Purchase your ticket in the "Värmlandstrafik" app

Good to know

• Vålösundsbryggan is located across from Café Pärlan (Vålösundsvägen 156).
• Boat traffic in Kristinehamn is operated by Värmlandstrafik.
• The journey to Alvön and Långön takes about an hour.
• The boat Lilla Strömmen operates on line 96 and has a total of 48 seats.Out of these, 32 seats can be pre-booked, while the remaining 16 are available for drop-in = first in line gets on first.
• Dogs are allowed, subject to availability.
• In Kristinehamn's archipelago, Boat 97 (Båtbuss 97) also runs to Vålön and Kalvön.

Traffic disruptions

In case of high waves, strong winds, thunderstorms, or other severe weather, the boat may be canceled.

For refunds, rebooking, or cancellations, contact Värmlandstrafik's customer service at 0771-32 32 00. If you purchased your ticket through the Kristinehamn Tourist Centre, contact them directly for a refund in case of a canceled trip.

Take the bus to the boat

Several departures of Boat 96 are coordinated with the bus timetable. Bus 3 departs from Kristinehamn city center (including Resecentrum and Tegelslagaregatan) towards Strandudden. Get off Bus 3 at the Vålösundsbryggan bus stop. If you have pre-booked your boat ticket, it can also be used on the bus.
