A new chapter in Fjällheim’s story
In February 2026, we, the Nielsen family, took over Fjällheim. We fell in love with the large red building in the heart of Idre, its history and the opportunity to create a place that reflects what we value when we travel ourselves. Our vision is for Fjällheim to be warm, personal and welcoming. A place where people come together, where there is time to unwind and where both guests and local residents feel at home. We want to preserve the character of the building while continuing to develop Fjällheim with care for our guests, our surroundings and the future.
A thoughtful approach to sustainability
For us, sustainability starts with the small, conscious choices we make every day. We want to make the most of what we have, reduce food waste and work with seasonal ingredients. That is why we favour local suppliers and strive to use as much of each ingredient as possible. We also believe in the importance of preserving what already exists. By caring for Fjällheim’s history and developing the hotel thoughtfully, we want to create a place that remains welcoming for years to come. Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we continually look for better ways of working and making choices that contribute to a more thoughtful hotel experience.
