Pilgrimsvägen i Skåne, St. Birgitta Ways South

A network of pilgrimage routes stretches through Skåne and Blekinge with Lund Cathedral as its hub.

From Malmö in the west, the Pilgrims' Route in Skåne leads towards Lund Cathedral, which is the hub of the route. From Lund, the route continues north towards Fagerhult in Skåne, where the Nydalaleden Trail begins.

Like the beads on a rosary, the churches lie along Birgittavägen. Each church has a story to tell. The church room is a treasure that the pilgrim is prepared to travel far to enter. The room invites rest for body and soul and reminds us of the inner space that exists in every person and that faces eternity. The outer journey to a holy place is the pilgrim's tool for the most important journey, the journey inward.

A pilgrimage is characterized by the pilgrim's seven key words: simplicity, slowness, silence, sharing, freedom, spirituality and carefreeness. As a pilgrim, you can choose to walk alone or on one of the arranged walks.
