You’re welcome to visit Ishult’s Courthouse this summer—the place where justice was administered for 205 years. The first court session in Ishult was held in 1730. Those sentenced to death were executed at the gallows hill in Krokstorp, a few kilometers from the courthouse. The last time the judge and jury gathered in the building was in 1935. The courthouse and jail are now historic landmarks worth visiting, and a museum offers a glimpse into the living conditions of the past.

The courthouse is owned and maintained by the Tunalän Local History Association, which consists of the four local history societies in Kristdala, Tuna, Misterhult, and Figeholm.

If you’d like a tour at a time other than those listed, that’s possible. Please contact Ingrid Thornberg at 073-835 33 02—text messages are welcome.

We look forward to your visit!
