Kuvaus

The Kolartorp nature reserve is a small forest reserve with exposed bedrock, sparse pine forests and several glacial formations known as giant's kettles. These deep cavities in the bedrock were formed by rushing meltwater from receding ice sheets, thousands of years ago. They can be seen on the slopes and up on the exposed bedrock, where the largest visible giant's kettle measures 1.75 m wide by 2 m deep.

The reserve is at a high elevation, offering a nice view of the surrounding landscape. Due to the hilliness however, it can be a bit strenuous to move around in the area. Follow the worn paths to explore the reserve.
