In 2025, the Diocese of Västerås is inviting people to join a hike along the Romboleden trail from Lillhärdal to Ramundberget. It will be a hike inspired by the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain, where pilgrims meet along the way.
The hike began in Arboga in 2024 and will end at OLSOK in Trondheim in 2026. The total distance is just over 90 mil and is divided into 5 stages. Pilgrim Hali Liddell is joining us on the day hikes along the entire route.
The Lillhärdal–Ramundberget stages cross mountains and marshes, often without a defined trail, and sometimes on roads. Expect ascents, fords, and wet sections. Each person is responsible for and carries their own pack, including a tent and food, as well as transportation to and from the Romboleden. Your pack should weigh no more than 15 kilograms, including water and food, and you need to be able to hike about 10 hours a day on the days you’ve chosen to join the group.
Hiking in community!
Some stages are day hikes, while most stages last two to three days. We start at 9:00 a.m. every day except on rest days. Bring enough food for the days you plan to hike, plus additional food as a reserve. Weather or injuries may delay the hike!
