Trail description
Here you can enjoy Öland's midland forest and experience ancient monuments at the same time. Rönnerum - Abbentorp consists of three orange-marked trails in the midland forest. The midland forest was created to protect the interconnected deciduous forests and the ancient monument environment. The trails go through beautiful forests that are a mixture of coniferous trees and hornbeam forest. They pass some of Öland's most important cultural values and interesting ancient monuments such as Odensflisor, Ismanstorp ancient castle and Rönnerums ancient village. If you choose to make a detour north from Oden's chips, you can discover Noah's Ark. During spring and early summer in the hornbeam forest you can hear the ticking of the stone crackers.

To think off!
If you want to go around the whole reserve, the three trails will take you around. If you just want to hike one trail, it is recommended to walk the same trail back to the car park. Camping is allowed in the area. During certain times of the year, some areas can be very wet.
Plant life
Plants such as bladderwort, yellow pea, snakeberry, woodruff, two-leaf clover, ivy, shadowglove and pondweed are common. Parts of the forest have a high proportion of old, coarse trees and dead wood. In these parts there are several endangered lichens and fungi. It is not least among the ground fungi that Rönnerum - Abbantorp's greatest nature values are to be found.
Leaf net butterfly
Smaller fields, dry meadows, wet meadows and riparian marshes are nestled in the forest. This adds variety, enhances the natural value and creates an environment where the rare weathervane butterfly thrives. There are also orchids such as honeyflowers, flyflowers and marsh knotweed.

- Damage or remove fixed natural objects or surface formations.
- Collect loose stones or remove pieces of bedrock.
- Picking or damaging mosses, lichens or wood fungi.
- Digging, pulling up or picking plants or parts of plants. You may pick berries and mushrooms.
- Damage or remove trees, stumps, bark, branches, shrubs or brushwood that are growing or dead.
