Norska Ljördalen - Sälen, 3-4 dagar

The trail is considered to be one of Sweden's most beautiful canoe trails with plenty of wilderness, alternating calm, flowing water and rapids.

Connection & starting point: Norska Ljördalen. Turn right in Ljördalen towards Tryslingen cottage village. Cross the river, turn left and then continue a couple of hundred meters, turn left to the bridge and add on the right side.

The river winds beautifully with mountains on both sides, which in June can still be covered in snow. The paddle starts with a couple of miles of easy paddling to the border. Under the bridge, it turns into an easy rapids and from here rapids follow at regular intervals all the way to the confluence with the Fulu River. There are a couple of sections of higher difficulty, towing or lifting may be necessary depending on the water level. The last rapids before the confluence go in a turn. Keep the inner curve. After the confluence, it is easy rapids for a few kilometers and then turn into harness the last 15 kilometers.

The entire route requires careful planning with packing in waterproof bags / barrels and strapped load in the canoe. With these preparations, all passages are passable with reservation for certain water levels.

The route is navigable throughout the summer months but with the risk of low water in July.
