Unnen-Bolmen-Slätten kanotled

The canoe trail is 29 kilometers long and offers a unique opportunity to paddle through some of Woods of Hallands most picturesque lakes. The trail forms a loop, meaning you can start your paddling at several different points. The route takes you from the calm lake Unnen, through the majestic Bolmen, and ends at the secluded lake Slätten, before returning to Unnen.

Starting at Lake Unnen

The trail begins at Lake Unnen, located south of the village of Unnaryd. Unnen is a long and relatively small lake, covering about 4 square kilometers, with calm, clear waters surrounded by beautiful countryside of forests and open meadows. The lake is ideal for paddling, with several shallow bays and small islands to explore.

From Unnen to Bolmen

From Unnen, the canoe trail continues towards the large Lake Bolmen, where a 100-meter portage (canoe lift) is required. Bolmen, Småland's largest lake at 184 square kilometers, offers a fantastic paddling experience with its 365 small islands and varied natural surroundings. The lake is also known for its excellent fishing, where you can catch pike, perch, and zander, among others. It's a place that invites both tranquil nature experiences and offers challenges for experienced paddlers.

Onward to Slätten

After Bolmen, the trail continues towards Slätten, following a 250-meter portage. Slätten is a small but scenic lake located between Unnen and Bolmen. The lake has a shallower and more peaceful character, surrounded by dense forest and open landscapes. Here, paddlers can enjoy a serene and secluded atmosphere, with narrow inlets and small islands that create a sense of being in an untouched nature. Slätten is also a popular fishing spot, where you can catch perch, pike, and roach in its clear but shallower waters.

Opportunities for Overnight Stays and Relaxation

Along the canoe trail, there are several spots to stop for rest and relaxation. At Vallsnäs campsite, you can take a break for a meal or spend the night in a scenic environment. The trail also passes Tiraholms Fisk, where you can enjoy locally caught and processed fish, as well as stay at a hotel.
