Premiere of a new event! Paddling Day is an annual event for outdoor enthusiasts. Mark your calendars for the second weekend in May. A full day for the whole family. Experience our beautiful archipelago and kick off the paddling season!

Background: During the “Mera ut” collaboration project, businesses and organizations met in various settings with the goal of identifying new areas for cooperation. Following a joint event, the canoe club in Oskarshamn came up with the idea of creating a new event: “Paddling Day.” This year’s “Paddling Day” will take place in the municipality of Oskarshamn, and starting in 2024, the event is intended to expand to other interested organizations across the country. The purpose of the day is to highlight paddling in its various forms as practiced in Sweden; to promote sustainable nature tourism; to create a collaborative platform for businesses, organizations, and those interested in paddling and nature; and to highlight the benefits of paddling from a public health perspective.

On this day, you can try canoeing and kayaking at the Oskarshamn Canoe Club in Stångehamn. Take advantage of great offers and try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) at Figeholms Marin. Take a trip to Kristdala and explore the meteorite lake Hummeln. Kattis at Outdoorness offers training in our beautiful archipelago.
