Near the 13th century Gann's island church is the Hångers spring. It was here that Israel Kolmodin wrote 'The flower time now comes'. Perhaps he was sitting on the large stone by the spring, with the fresh water still rippling today, when he wrote the lines that are sung every school graduation around the country.
