Beschreibung
Here you will find a spruce forest that has been affected by several forest fires. When the forest fire rages, most of the spruce and deciduous trees burn up. The pine trees fare best, they often survive, but the fire damages the bark at the bottom of some of the trees. These burns, which look like a long gash in the bark, are called fire blights. There are also some dead trees either lying on the ground or standing up. Dead wood attracts wood-boring fungi, lichens and insects that feed on dead wood. Some birds also find the insects good food.

Folgen Sie der Route 87 von Östersund nach Ammer. Biegen Sie links ab und fahren Sie durch Ammer. Nach ca. 3 Kilometern biegen Sie rechts nach Ladumyråsen ab. Folgen Sie der Straße geradeaus nördlich und durch Ladumyråsen. Nach ca. 2,5 Kilometern befindet sich das Naturschutzgebiet auf der rechten Straßenseite.

Welcome to Vattenberget. Please note that within the nature reserve it is not allowed to:
- pick and collect species of any kind, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms,
- climbing trees, staying near a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot, collecting animals or otherwise deliberately damaging or disturbing wildlife,
- damaging the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
- make fires, other than with firewood brought in
- drive a motorized vehicle.
