Kråkis, Biking Gästrikland

A nice and easy ride that takes you along Kyrkvägen towards Ockelbo / Brattfors, but before you get all the way there you turn back towards Jädraås again along the old embankment.

The name "Kråkis" comes from the fact that a stretch of this track runs on the embankment where the former railway that was popularly called "Kråkbanan" (Dala-Ockelbo-Norrsundets Järnväg) went. The fact that it was called "Kråkbanan" has to do with the fact that it started in Linghed outside Svärdsjö - and people from the Svärdsjö area were called "Svärdsjökråkor". This in turn goes all the way back to 1520 and Gustav Vasa, because when the Danes stick a spear into the hay wagon where Gustav is hiding and it starts dripping blood, the driver cuts his horse in the "Crow" (hoof) to hide the blood coming from Gustav.

Along the trail, Jädraås old cabin and forge are passed. In summer, a museum railway also runs in Jädraås.
