Gierevaartoe - blomsterfjället

The hike up to Gierevaartoe goes through lush high-herb birch forest with man-sized torta, wolfsbane and the grass hässlebrodd. It is not without reason that it is called the flower mountain. Once at the top, you get a fantastic view of Hemavan, Norra Storfjället and the Norwegian border mountains.

The path up to Gierevaartoe is located about 5 km southeast of Hemavan. It starts from the parking lot beyond the sign Portbron if you come from Hemavanhållet. Hiking signs are clearly visible along the way. Follow the red-marked path up the mountain through the lush high-herb forest. In addition to beautiful views, the mountain has a very special flora with its calcareous bedrock. Up on the edge of the bare mountain, you may come across the first mountain anemones or Sweden's smallest orchid, the dwarf orchid. After the small piece of bare rock, the path goes through a small forest area.

Directions to the summit book Sommartoppar Hemavan Tärnaby (feel free to use the Nature Map to make sure you're going the right way): after the next steep section when you reach a plateau. Turn left at the summer peaks arrow (southeast) and walk towards Klippväggen instead of following the path. At Klippvägen is a nice place to have a coffee if it is windy. There are plenty of mountain cypresses growing on the calcareous rock and feel for it, you might smell the vanilla scent of the mountain axe or see the mountain carnation. In one place there is a path up the cliff. Up on the next plateau it is about 4-500 m left. Follow the large boulders and keep straight to the southeast. From the top you get miles of views in all directions. Towards Gryttind, Olfjället and northern Norway's highest mountain massif Oksskolten in the southwest, Artfjället in the west, northern Storfjället and Laisan in the north and east and Södra Storfjället in the south.

Gierravatoe consists of two small peaks, on the northern peak stands the TV mast. The box with the summit book is not on the peak with the TV mast.
