The reserve is located two miles north of Strömsund. From road 342 north of Strömsund, turn off towards Risnäset, but after three kilometers turn right onto a forest road. After another three kilometers you reach the reserve.

Welcome to Höjden Äspnäs. Keep in mind that within the reserve it is not allowed to:

• make fires, except in specially designated places
• felling living or standing dead trees and reprocessing lying dead wood for the purpose of burning
• capture, disturb or injure mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and spawning grounds or collect eggs
• climbing nest trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, roost or burrow
• disturbing the ground, boulders or vegetation
• picking and collecting natural products (wood fungi, lichens and mosses) except berries and edible mushrooms
• collecting invertebrates, such as beetles and land molluscs
• driving a motorized vehicle off-road throughout the area marking trails, organizing orienteering checks or organizing competitions
• constructing snowmobile trails.
