Beskrivelse

In Hummelmora hage, located in Görvälns nature reserve, you can walk under 600-year-old oaks. Several trees are protected as natural monuments.

In spring, lapwings usually nest in the meadow. The lapwing is a bird that stands out. It has a distinct tassel on the back of its neck and makes the sound "vip". If you come close to the nest, the bird will fly towards you. It will 'waggle' and warn you until you leave.

Water vole and mast train

In spring, the strange water lily blooms. A pale flower with no green leaves, it sucks nutrients from the roots of the hazel. During the same season, you can also hear the beautiful tones of the green siskin and the green warbler.

The jay collects nuts and acorns in the fall for the winter. The jay hides its food in many different places but, fortunately, has a phenomenal memory.

During winter, you may find yourself in the middle of a cattle train where black tits, blue tits and long-tailed tits fly around looking for food together. The flock moves on as quickly as it arrived.

Today sheep and cows are grazing in Hummelmora hage. It is possible to enter via several steps but be careful not to go too close to the animals, the pasture is their home. There is a barbecue area and benches for lunch or coffee breaks. Outside the meadow you can collect firewood and there are toilets by the road.

Linné and Koffsan

If you follow Vattenverksvägen north, you will come to a small strait in Lake Mälaren called Skäftingesundet. In the strait there is a small island called Koffsan. The little island may not look very special, but this is where one of Sweden's super celebrities came ashore in 1731. It was the botanist, doctor, geologist and zoologist Carl Linnaeus. He laid the foundation for how we name and divide plants and animals into different families, genera and species. During his short visit to Koffsan, Linnaeus collected as many as 80 different plants.

Hummelmora hagar mot Gåseborg är en perfekt utflykt för barn. Det finns mycket gamla och spännande träd nedanför Sandvik gård. Jag filmade med min son.
